POETRY 101

on a long flight from houston to nyc, i was stuck (in first class - i love standby) next to a marketing rep with a taste for bloody marys. as she got wasted, i wrote this. the moral of the story? anyone can be your muse!
my airbags expand but
even they can't save me
light and airy
filled with the last breath
of exsistence
drawing in from every corner
of this predestined universe
long awaiting a spot of light
i've been here years
down off the dusty shelf take me
place me with the other wonders
pyramids and great walls
impossible extremities overcome
the stars will see me in
my spectacular finale
normality is the enemy
don't let it invade
give me a chance to be the one
who refuses to bloom
